Business Development Manager – Heat Networks & Commercial Heating

Business Development – DMG Delta – Bishops Stortford

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to help grow our portfolio of PPM contracts across heat networks and commercial heating systems. You will already have strong relationships within the managed property sector and a solid understanding of heat networks and energy centres.

About the Role:

This is a pivotal commercial role within DMG Delta, focused on creating and converting opportunities within the managed property sector. You will use a blend of modern business development techniques and traditional relationship-building to secure new PPM contracts and promote our services around compliance, efficiency and sustainability.

You’ll work closely with Developers, Managing Agents and Property Managers, helping them tackle the real-world challenges of operating heat networks and energy centres, while supporting DMG Delta’s growth plans.

  • Head Office: Bishop’s Stortford (hybrid – office and remote working)
  • Salary: £45,000–£60,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus
  • Hours: 8am to 5pm (40 per week)

    • Create PPM contract opportunities using modern BD techniques – including webinars, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and face-to-face/online meetings

    • Convert qualified leads into profitable sales, delivering defined profit and margin targets

    • Promote DMG Delta’s services that improve compliance, efficiency and sustainability for clients and residents

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Developers, Managing Agents and Property Managers

    • Maintain a clear understanding of market trends, competitors and client needs

    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover and mobilisation of new contracts

    About You:

    The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record in the managed property sector. You’ll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders across Developers and Managing Agents, and confident talking about heat networks, energy centres and M&E maintenance at a commercial level.

    You’ll be proactive, relationship-focused and motivated by delivering sustainable growth while supporting clients to improve compliance and performance.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Experience in the managed property sector (minimum 2 years – required)

    • Proven business development / sales track record

    • Strong understanding of:

      • Industry hierarchy (Managing Agents, Developers)

      • Heat networks – operation, strengths, weaknesses

      • M&E Energy Centre maintenance

      • Competitors and market trends

    • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills

    • Strong commercial awareness and confidence in delivering growth

    • Willingness to travel (around 25%)

    Desirable Skills:

    • Experience in the HVAC or energy sector (highly preferred)

    • Familiarity with CRM software and modern BD tools

    • Interest in compliance, efficiency and sustainability within heat network
