Mobile Building Services Mechanical Engineer

Due to company expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Building Services Mechanical Engineer. We have a prestigious variety of contracts covering London and the Home Counties. Our head office is based near Stansted Airport, Essex, however the majority of our customer base and work is located within the M25 and Central London.

The Role:

Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: 8am – 5pm
Job Type: Permanent
Location of work: 99% inside of M25
Head Office: Bishop’s Stortford
Call Out Rota: Approximately 1 week in 7
Overtime rate: Time and a half or double time plus standby allowance of £150

Job Overview:

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical/electrical/controls equipment and systems.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Participate in emergency call-out duties as required to address urgent system failures outside regular working hours.
  • Good knowledge of heat networks systems and how they work
  • Possible servicing of Hiu’s
  • Working within Energy Centres, Large centralised plant rooms, building distribution systems.

  • A full UK driving licence is essential plus clear DBS check.
  • Proven experience in building services engineering with a mechanical/electrical/controls bias.
  • Relevant qualifications/experience in mechanical engineering or building services (e.g., NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
