We are looking for an experienced and progressive Technical Support Manager – or a developing professional ready to step into an Assistant Technical Support Manager role – to join our growing team.

About the Role:

This is a pivotal technical role within the Technical Support Team, ensuring high standards of technical performance, compliance, and innovation across all services provided. The job holder will provide advanced engineering support, lead complex diagnostics, and drive technical excellence across contracts and projects – maintaining strong client confidence and continuous improvement.

For Assistant Technical Support Manager, this role offers development opportunities under the guidance of experienced managers, with structured mentoring to progress into a full Technical Support Manager position.

  • Salary: Up to £55k (dependent on experience) plus vehicle
  • Hours: 8am to 5pm (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities, Overview and Expectations:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Undertake site surveys and produce maintenance agreements in line with compliance standards
    • Assist with contract reviews and renewals, ensuring effective, compliant, and profitable delivery.
    • Work with clients to produce condition, dilapidation, and plant life expectancy reports, including recommendations, payback timeframes, and sustainability improvements.
    • Be commercially aware, identifying and driving extra works and sales activities to grow revenue and strengthen client relationships.
    • Undertake condition surveys and risk assessments on contracts to evaluate liabilities or previous maintenance issues.
    • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and business partners, ensuring high client satisfaction and retention.
    • Manage and conduct site and subcontractor audits, reviewing quality, workmanship, and value for money.
    • Auditing contract delivery against expectations, ensuring compliance and profitability.
    • Review tenders and advise on technical suitability in conjunction with senior management.
    • Identify and act on Health, Safety, and Environmental issues related to contracts.
    • Provide technical guidance and office-based support to operations teams, clients, and engineers.
    • Address site-based H&S issues, escalating where necessary to the SHEQ Manager or responsible Director.

    About You:

    The ideal candidate will be a career-conscious professional with a background in building services (mechanical and electrical).

    You will support and lead technical efforts, complete tenders, conduct contract surveys, and provide costs, maintenance schedules, and timelines in line with compliance standards (including SFG20). Additionally, you’ll assist in managing small works projects, ensuring a proactive and professional approach that consistently exceeds client expectations.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Level 3 (minimum) trade qualification in at least one discipline (gas, mechanical or electrical)
    • Strong knowledge of building services and maintenance practices
    • Experience supervising or supporting multidisciplinary maintenance teams
    • Full UK driving licence
    • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
    • Ability to multitask in high pressured environment
    • CAFM and Microsoft Office experience

    Desirable Skills:

    • IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
    • Multi-skilled background (mechanical/electrical)
    • Experience or knowledge of Heat Networks
