Technical Manager (HVAC)
We are looking for an experienced and progressive Technical Manager to join our team.
This is a pivotal role, working closely with both the Operations and Account Management teams to maintain and strengthen client trust and confidence in our company and the services we provide. You will ensure that technical contract issues are always handled by competent and suitable resources while providing strategic oversight.
The ideal candidate will be a career-conscious professional with a background in building services (mechanical and electrical). You will be responsible for leading technical efforts, completing tenders, conducting contract surveys, and providing costs, maintenance schedules, and timelines in line with compliance standards (including SFG20). Additionally, you will assist in the management of small works projects, ensuring a proactive and professional approach that consistently exceeds client expectations.
Salary: up to £55,000 plus vehicle
Hours: 8am – 5pm

Main Duties
- Assist Account Managers with contract reviews and renewals and advise on any amendments requires to ensure effective compliant delivery and profitably.
- Work with the client and their budgets to provide condition, dilapidation and plant life expectancy reports along with competitive recommendations, payback time frames, health and safety and environmental innovations.
- Be commercially aware, driving extra works and sales activities to win new business from the customer to build revenue, profits and long-term relationships.
- Undertake condition reports for any contracts where the company may encounter risk and liability resulting from previous neglect, misuse or poor maintenance and specifically where the company may commit to either semi or fully comprehensive type responsibilities.
- Build and maintain effective relations with the customer and fellow business partners, ensuring good client retention/relationships, to include client liaison, communication and entertainment to add growth to the business.
- Manage and conduct site/subcontractor audits, based on quality of good housekeeping, workmanship, value for money and response times.
- Assist Account Managers undertaking audits of contract delivery against what has been sold, ensuring compliance, effectiveness and profitability.
- In conjunction with Senior Managers, appraise, review, and comment on tenders and potential suitability for company.
- Identify any Health, Safety and Environmental issues relating to contracts and action as necessary.
- Develop, maintain and improve all key client relationships in conjunction with Account Managers by ensuring that ethical and professional acceptable contract and business activities are always maintained throughout the growing portfolio.
- Ensure all contracts related activities comply with all imposed and related regulations and legislation.
- Form part of the management out of hours call out rota.
- Provide an Office based resource throughout the week to provide consistent technical support and guidance to the Operations team, clients and engineers.
- Deal in entirety site-based H & S issues as they arise, escalating, when necessary, clearly to SHEQ Manager and responsible Director.
Main Duties
- You must be living and authorised to work in the UK to apply for this position.
- Level 3 (minimum) trade qualifications in at least one discipline
- Heat Network experience and knowledge desirable.
- Experience in supervising multi disciplined maintenance workforces and overseeing the correct delivery of contractual commitments and service quality
- Driving licence is essential.
- Excellent building services time served knowledge.
